Tour de Paradise

The Tour de Paradise guides you completely around the Big Island. Upon your arrival, you will begin an awesome 8 day/ 7 night, fully supported bicycle tour designed for the cycling enthusiasts.

On this extraordinary adventure, you will circle the Big Island, exploring waterfalls, active and inactive volcanoes, black sand beaches and lush tropical rainforests. Hawaii is famous for an amazing variety of climates and ecosystems. Vegetation and ocean vistas change within a few miles, or within a few hundred feet of elevation. Join fellow adventurous cyclists for an unforgettable cycling vacation.

The Tour de Paradise Tour includes 7 nights accommodations, breakfast each morning, some lunches, bicycle, helmet, full support vehicle, tour guide, energy nutrition and custom souvenir water bottle.

Itinerary

The Tour de Paradise offers the following cycling experience:

Day of Arrival
Upon your arrival you will be met at the airport by our unique *meet and greet service where you will then be shuttled to check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, there will be a welcome meeting where you will meet with your tour guide for an informative discussion on safety, the tour schedule, and routes for the following day.

(*Meet and Greet service is available for arrivals and departures between 8:00am and 8:00pm)

Day 1
Your first day of riding will be approximately 52 miles. You begin your ride along the Big Islands Gold Coast, which is the first half of the Ironman bike course. We will make stops at historic sites and tropical valleys along our way.

Day 2
A worthwhile challenge! Ride into the Kohala Mountains and across part of the famous Parker Ranch, one of the largest privately owned cattle ranches in the USA. Your reward? Stunning oceans views as you drop into the green headlands of tropical valleys on the windward side. Approximately 55 miles.

Day 3
Continue along the green Hamakua Coast, descending the scenic route toward Hilo, the largest town on the island. Lush tropical land sites and waterfalls in giant river gulches will make this day special. Approximately 55 miles.

Day 4
Gain elevation gradually over thirty-five miles to be rewarded with exploring terrain on the most active volcano in the world. See the Kilauea Caldera, lounge in front of a large fireplace where Mark Twain watched an eruption in the last century.

Day 5
Rest on a thirty-five mile, forty-five hundred foot descent back to sea level. Restore your energy at the beautiful Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, home of the hawkbill turtles. Heading north, we will see the southern most point of the USA. Approximately 55 miles.

Day 6
On this last day of riding, heading northward up the Kona Coast. Roads alternating between straight and winding take you across breathtaking sea cliffs, lava flow vistas, Ohia forest reserves and world famous Kona coffee farms. This incomparable variety of scenery is compensation for gains and losses of elevation as you make your way to your hotel. Approximately 55 miles.

Day 7
Farewell and Aloha. You are free to relax and enjoy yourself, organize your gear and prepare for your departure.
